I have developed my Professional skills since I started studying Media and Communication at BCU. I have undergone various placements and helped in different productions for my course. Gradually, I have built my portfolio from small roles to big roles in terms of production and so far I am pleased with my progress as I have taken on placements in areas I hope to work in future when am done with school, however I am yet to get a placement with a TV production company which I hope would change this summer. I have also learnt how to scout for locations, talent and contributors through negotiation which I believe is very important towards my professional development.
One my achievements over the years was getting a paid placement and having my own office space for two months. I was proud of myself as my boss and colleagues talked of me in high esteem and regard and personally that was better than the payment I received as it made me fulfilled as an aspiring media professional.
I hope to develop my skills more by gaining work placements with TV and radio stations to help equip me as the media expert I hope to be. To show that I am actively trying to develop my skills and make myself employable, I have gone ahead to apply and get an interview with Bass Fm.
